With all Magnifi calls, an initial preauthorization charge is made on the credit card of the caller once a call is accepted by a Provider. The preauthorization is meant to verify that the caller’s credit card is active and working properly so that the Provider will be paid adequately. This process is similar to buying gas at a gas station, as a preauthorization will usually be made prior to using the pump.
As of 16 March 2020, the preauthorization charge amount is $100 USD. Once a call ends and the call cost is finalized, this preauthorization charge will be reversed. Preauthorization charges should disappear from the caller's card balance within 1-2 business days, depending on the caller's bank.
